The 6 million mile man
On May 27th 2013, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) founder Loren Cunningham passed the 3 million miles mark with United Airlines the same way he travelled the vast majority of those miles… sitting in an economy seat.
Happy 88 Loren!
What a joy and faith filled celebration it was at Youth With A Mission Kona, Hawaii for YWAM Founder Loren Cunningham’s 88th birthday. Even with little advanced notice, friends and family gathered from near and far to enjoy the laughter, faith building stories and cake!
Loren’s legacy message
Last Friday (June 16th), Loren had had a very full day and was quite tired. He was scheduled to Zoom in the evening at 8:00 pm to the Go Persia Conference, made up of YWAMers in three of the "stans". He said to me, "I'm not sure I will have the strength to do a full two hours, Dar."

The Day Loren Cunningham Almost Died
YWAM founder Loren Cunningham recounted this life threatening story that none of us had ever heard before about when he was 6 years old out in a town near San Diego… He and his older sister and parents were out preaching in the center of town. All the sidewalks in that part of town were covered by brick porticos because of the heat. People would walk under the porticos from shop to shop around the downtown. Suddenly Loren’s mom, Jewell Cunningham said, “Dad – we have to go now. God said we have to go now!”
Loren Cunningham: A Man with a Mission
It all started when Loren was a 20-year-old Bible college student. He was in the Bahamas on a singing tour. As Loren spent time in prayer, he was leaning back in his bed when he got a “mental movie.” He “saw” waves on a map. These waves then turned into young people going into every continent and sharing the Gospel.
