Kona Celebration of Life

On the weekend of November 4th, 2023 our YWAM community gathered to celebrate our Founder Loren Cunningham’s life + legacy. 

We started our celebration with a Aha A Ka Lōkahi, A Unity Paddle Gathering at the Pier in Kona, Hawaii. Hundreds gathered around the Pier, close friends and family paddled out, surrounding Darlene. 

Loren wouldn’t want it any other way but a weekend full of remembering, celebrating and sharing vision for the future! We had 9 different events happening around campus — a workout dedicated to Loren, a photo-booth, prayer sets with a map covering our Ohana court floor. Book readings from Loren’s new book, No Boundaries, tours of our campus, screening of movies and passport adventures for our keiki.

We ended with the raising of the flags representing all the Nations and a planting of a Koa tree in memory and honor of Loren Cunningham.
